ROLE OVERVIEW 


The Accounts Payable Expert (maternity cover) is responsible for recording and preparing accounts related to expenses, fixed assets and inventory, as well as the respective accruals and reversals. The person on this role is expected to keep the AP documentation in compliance with statutory requirements along with inventory and fixed-assets tracking, including physical inventory.


 MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure timely process and record fixed-asset and inventory additions, retirements, adjustments, enhancements, revaluations, and transfers;
  • Reconcile fixed-asset ledger and inventory balances with general ledger accounts by validating the integrity of account balances of the company's general ledger;
  • Maintain AP, fixed-asset and inventory master data files to support tax, statutory, and regulatory reporting;
  • Process and record fixed-asset and inventory adjustments, enhancements, revaluations and transfers, as well as inventory material valuation; 
  • Calculate and record depreciation expense;
  • Prepare monthly inventory reports and analysis;
  • Support set-up of functional changes in ERP regarding fixed assets and inventory information collection and processing.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related; 
  • Relevant work experience in the area;
  • Good command of local and international accounting legislation (NAS, IAS/IFRS);
  • Good knowledge of local tax legislation;
  • Experience with general ledger systems such as SAP /Oracle or other ERP;
  • Computer literacy with intermediate or advanced level of MS Excel;
  • Good command of English language;
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
