Role Overview:

The team you would be working with likes to automate the boring stuff by any means possible, so you would get the opportunity to write scripts in your favourite scripting language or shell (and if you don’t have one, we can help with that). We help implement new services on Linux platforms and collaborate with different teams, we are not shy of asking questions and learning new things and neither should you. Ideally you are comfortable with Linux/UNIX environments, can write some code (be it shell scripting or perl/python etc.), you understand basic database administration and have some experience with creating web interfaces. If you don’t know some of it, it is fine, and if you would like to learn some of it, it is fine also – there are many ways to grow with us, so let’s grow together.

Your main responsibilities would be:

• Linux OS system administration – monitoring of OS/hardware resource utilization and pre-emptive administration, backup/restore management
• Handle subscriber and service providers’ complaints concerning services
• Develop and maintain tools to optimize work-flow – gathering application data in a database, visualize data through a web interface/GUI, write a script that automates a task
• Perform all actions required for the operation, administration, maintenance and change management of all relevant platforms and services
• Participate in activities with other divisions on implementation of change requests/work orders.
• Supervise all the activities performed by third parties in relation with the relevant contracts and procedures.
• Control the physical and remote access to the relevant services platforms by suppliers, vendors or others.
• Cooperate with suppliers for timely resolving of hardware and software problems concerning services and equipment under his/her responsibility.

What we would expect from you:

• University degree in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications or similar
• Experience in UNIX/Linux OS administration
• Experience in database administration
• Experience with scripting languages (BASH, Perl etc.)
• Good knowledge in networks – TCP/IP
• DIAMETER
• IP routing protocols
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Good command of English (both written and verbal)
