Senior RAN Operations Engineer

ROLE OVERVIEW

Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer is responsible for control and operations of Radio Access Network domain, consisting of BTSs (NodeBs, eNodeBs, gNodeBs), relevant controllers elements BSCs and RNCs. His/Hers obligation is to implement or change configuration of RAN elements, arrange immediate intervention (local or remote) on RAN elements and services and systems in case of critical failures and ensure proper network operation.

 

Shall follow the equipment’s lifecycle and proactively perform any upgrades and/or improvements of configuration in order to ensure the highest NW services quality and availability. The position will perform troubleshooting and investigation of RAN NW equipment failures and incidents.

 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Execute daily technical activities within the team – Work Order execution, incident handling, customer complaint handling
  • Perform software upgrades on the RAN NW equipment with the aim of the minimum service downtime 
  • Perform first and second level operations and maintenance of RAN NW equipment for technologies 2,3,4 and 5G (BTSs, NodeBs, eNodeBs, gNodeBs)
  • Perform first and second level maintenance of all existing legacy and interconnected RAN network elements
  • Ensure and coordinate actions with vendors and subcontractors concerning RAN equipment integration, testing and acceptance.
  • Provide interoperability support with CORE NW equipment.
  • Take responsibility to follow of relevant corporate policies and procedures
  • Carry out all other tasks, assigned by the Line Manager and in accordance with the employee’s qualification and responsibilities
  • Strictly follow safety and health instructions.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in in the field of Telecommunications or other Engineering domain
  • Good knowledge in telecommunication technologies
  • RAN technology knowledge and experience
  • Good knowledge of IP basics (CCNA or another network certificate is beneficial)
  • Flexible and loyal team-player
  • Work well under pressure with tight SLA frames in case of incident handling
  • Excellent English (both written and verbal)
  • Fluent English
