The impact you’ll make:
We are looking for a Cloud Observability Senior Engineer who will be responsible for designing and implementing the observability strategy across our Kubernetes platforms and cloud-native services. The role focuses on ensuring visibility, performance, and reliability through metrics, logs, traces, and profiling using modern observability tooling.
What you’ll do:
- Design and implement a cloud-native observability platform for multi-cluster Kubernetes environments.
- Integrate observability components using tools such as Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and OpenTelemetry.
- Collaborate with platform and application teams to define SLOs, SLIs, dashboards, and alerts.
- Drive a culture of operational excellence through root-cause analysis and proactive visibility.
- Support infrastructure as code and GitOps practices using Terraform and Helm.
- Ensure observability is embedded in the SDLC in close collaboration with DevOps, security, and engineering teams.
- Document observability architecture, patterns, and operational procedures.
- Identify opportunities for performance and cost optimization across cloud environments.
- Stay informed on trends and introduce new observability best practices when relevant.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Kubernetes Expertise: Proven experience operating and scaling Kubernetes environments.
- Grafana & OpenTelemetry: Hands-on with Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, and OpenTelemetry.
- Observability Skills: Strong knowledge of metrics, logs, tracing, and alerting strategies.
- Cloud Experience: Multi-cloud or hybrid setups, preferably AWS or GCP.
- Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform, Helm, and GitOps.
- Reliability Focus: Commitment to debuggability, stability, and scalability.
- Clear Communication: Strong documentation and architecture skills.
- Team Player: Collaborative approach in structured enterprise environments.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced Observability: Service mesh and distributed tracing experience.
- Certifications: Cloud or Kubernetes credentials.
- Optimization: Performance tuning and cost efficiency in cloud-native systems.
